A shelf that lifts a monitor to eye height and gives back the strip of desk underneath. Solid walnut throughout, with legs chamfered at the bottom edge so the shelf reads lighter than it is. Rated well past the weight of any monitor we could find to test it with, and sized so a keyboard slides under when the desk has to be clear.

Materials
Kiln-dried American black walnut, 20mm stock, finished in hardwax oil. Boards are matched for colour within each shelf, so the top does not run from chocolate to straw across its length.
Care
Wipe with a barely damp cloth. Once a year, or whenever the surface stops beading water, rub in a coat of any hardwax oil with a rag and buff it off after twenty minutes. Marks sand out with the 320 paper in the box.
